The Monterrey is only a block away from the Poblado METRO Station. Adjoining
the Shopping Center is the multi story upscale Monterrey Office Tower
featuring professional and commercial businesses offering all kinds
of services. The Tower is unique in that most floors also include parking
spaces. This saves time for both tenants and clients, plus it frees
up the elevators. This photo, taken from the 7th.floor garage, includes
the Medellin River and the METRO tracks.
In addition to 5 Cinemas, a Casino, Billiard Parlor, Disco, Gym, etc., etc., there’s the expected Children’s Play Area.
Take an escalator up to the second floor and you’re in PC heaven with nearly a hundred competitive stores offering name brand and generic PC’s, accessories and supplies.
An Internet service provider (ISP) offers shoppers 15 minutes of free access. Their special offer was 200 Kbs wide band, full time telephone IP connection for Pesos 75.000 a month (about $33 u.s.) including taxes. ISP competition, both cable and telephone, is intense in Medellin. Prices are lower and higher than this example. Prices are reduced, and features increased, on a frequent basis.

neither user friendly, or friendly to the critically important Search
Engines. As a result, this otherwise fine Home Page, which was costly
to create, receives few visitors. What a shame!

bought a new PC from one of the Monterrey stores (they have been in
business for 7 years at this location. I was told that this was their
first sale to a foreign person) and can report that the technician does
speak English!
There
are thousands of people in Medellin who speak good English, but few
of them work at jobs where their language skill can be used to promote
their employers, to improve this great cities economy, or its image
as an international city. What a shame!
