Ride the METRO to Itagui, the last Station to the south. As you exit
the train you will see the Mayorca. The horizontal building is the current
Shopping Center and the multi-story building behind it is the new addition.
As you leave the station, take the exit ramp to the right. You can end up inside the Mayorca. The only other METRO station exit ramp that leads into a shopping center is the EXITO Shopping Center at the Niquia Station. which is the station farthest to the North.
Mayorca is in the City of Sabaneta, population 42,000. The top floor of the Mayorca, with about 40 stores, is dwarfed by the "addition", shown in the left side of the photo. Scheduled for completion in May-June of 06, the new space will more than triple the number of stores. This growth is indicative of the population increase throughout the greater Medellin area.
From the parking level, looking down into the Center. Internationally known name brand stores are featured using the popular marketing concept of: Outlet Stores.
When the Mayorca addition opens, it will then be recognized as a major shopping center. Typically the larger Centers offer Monthly Events to entice shoppers to return again, and again.
